2013 Jetta TDI w/ Premium, DSG (Buyback Nov 2018); 2013 Jetta TDI (bought Dec 2018); also, bought a CPO 2017 Passat TSI (Nov 2018)
MY CEL just came on and it's a P2002 Code: "Particulate Trap Efficiency Below Threshold"

I plan on doing the buyback very soon, good chance within 30-60 days. Can I do any major harm driving the car for 30-60 days, which would probably be no more than about 1,500 miles?

Also, is there anything I can do to make the problem go away? I've been doing just a little reading up on it. If I drive the car a little hard at higher RPMs for 20 minutes, might that make the problem go away?

I had this code for about a month or two. I continued to drive the car hard to no avail, got the emissions fix done on mine and the dealership had to clean my DPF but they did it at no charge to me. Haven’t had another code in 20k miles/ 1 year. I wouldn’t worry about driving it around.

buy back doesn't care about codes, only if you get the fix would the dealer force you to fix the issues before they slap the extended warranty on the car.

I know BB doesn't care about codes. I just want to make sure that driving the car for a month or two with a bad DPF won't make the car undriveable.

1500 mile shouldn't be earth ending for the DPF, MPG may take a huge hit but you're so close to the finish line nothing wrong with limping across.

I got DPF codes in a Q7 and the car does not go past 2K RPM and above 40 MPH. I am sure I can continue driving, but its a giant pain to drive a car like this... so be careful not to make it worse.

And how do I "not make it worse"?

Alternatively, is there any way I can make it better?

Did you get the same P2002 code?
