McMaster-Carr EGT probe

I have heard that you can use a McMaster-Carr thermocouple as an EGT probe..I just can seem to tell which is most suitable? Anyone out there running one want to share which one they used? I have a gauge just not a suitable probe.

i also want to do a circuit with EGT measure...but i still haven't bought the components...

The easiest thing to do is buy the TC probe from mycruiseagent as he has already figured it out and will sell you just the probe. http://www.mycruiseagent.com/egt.htm

The Aircraft spruce probe is not too long, fairly quick to react and have been used in a lot of builds. I recommend them.

most EGT gauges Ive come across use 'K - Type' Thermocouples. They are identifiable by the Yellow and red Wire ends at the terminal side of the probe.
