A flashing glow plug light is also a form of Check Engine light... best bet is to have the car scanned for codes....especially if there are engine running symptoms associated with the light.

My random interweb guess: a QA issue... which also triggers the flashing glowplug light. :)

You have to scan it for fault codes. VCDS is preferred, but generic OBDII should be sufficient in this case. The flashing light means there's a severe engine management fault.

The brake light bulbs or switch failure will do it as well, do draw your attention to a potentially dangerous condition.

The other ones I know of so far are the #3 lift sensor injector and the tps throttle positioning sensor. As said you'll really need to scan it to see what the actual issue is.

Obvious maybe, but did you reconnect the glow plugs? Was the flashing G/P light and starting issues there before pulling the head?

That CEL (check engine light) is just a kid in class waving her hand trying to get you attention because she has the answer. You need to have the codes read. Some places will read them for FREE. Try Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. Get the exact code (like P0123) not just their translation into English and post it back here.

Hi tdivaki,

Please start a new thread, because yours is a new question/topic. You'll get some more attention that way and the topic will be easier for all to follow.

The flashing glow light is a "check engine light." Read your fault memory. The controller wants to give you some clues, so use that to your advantage.
