Aftermarket Sunshade FIX - anyone interested?

I am working on sourcing the OEM clips for the aftermarket sunshade that goes into the Jetta.
The mounting clips that come with the sunshade are not very well designed and break easily.

Here are some pics of the OEM GLX VR6 sunshade clips.

Why are you looking for an alternate source when you can obtain them thru your local dealer?? Price?

Also, did you ever determine what that second "slit" was for? Didn't seem like anyone responded to your question.

Actually, I am trying to find the part number. These clips are different than the ones that I had found originally and posted.

These are from a guy on the Vortex who didn't see my post. I just happened to ask him if he has this and he took the pics for me

I will post part numbers and prices as soon as I can figure it out.

And you're right about the standard clips included with the shade, they leave something to be desired.

You have the P/Ns for the GLX pieces, right?

It is different. I'm working on finding the GLX part. I believe I'm close.

Those in that thread are from the Passat, not Jetta.

Yes, sorry Dieseldorf for not following up on the post.

You can buy the clip, but it's attached to the "C" pillar interior trim piece. Don't ask me why. John at Impex ordered the piece so we could look at it and possibly find a part number.

There WAS a part number on the plastic piece itself, but John could not find a source for the part(at least here in North America).

So, for $40 each side, you can buy the "C"pillar pieces but that's alot just for the OEM plastic clips.

Are yours holding up ok? DD?

yeah, my clips are fine. I leave the shade in the extended position at all times, though. I wish there was a more practical solution to this. Buying the entire C pillar cover is a bit over the top...even for me.

Could anything ever be made to work with the Passat clips?
