Thanks for reiterating the "no major work at the TDIFest" rule. This is not the place for TB changes, IP swaps, clutches, brakes, etc. Most of the wrenching folks will be far from their toolboxes and spare parts. Besides, there is always the possibility that something WILL break while doing the work. As a rule of thumb, if you have to jack your car up to do the work, please reconsider. Besides, asphalt parking lots and jackstands don't mix.
Gurus are here for fun, not work. Many of them wrench and/or supervise at local GTGs. Plan on attending one.
Small "no mess" tasks are doable in our reserved parking lot. Folks like my son will be happy to help you with filter changes, interinjector lines, nozzles, etc.
If there is a major failure, I suspect that one of the fest staff will be accomodating with their local garage. We'll get you home in your car, if possible.
We are divvying out the tasks at this time. Good folks with areas of expertise are working even now.
Registration should be up by the first of the year, barring unforeseen problems.
Surprises are being planned. Some that y'all will enjoy VERY much.
Remember, we are trying to make this fest family friendly. Indoor pool and a stocked fishing lake on property (hotel will lend fishing tackle, you supply bait). Lots of things for older kids to do in the area of the site. Free shuttle to Kings Island/The Beach from the hotel. Ruby Tuesday's and Outback steakhouse adjoining the property. Finer fast food establishments nearby. Pizza place onsite. Malls within a few miles. Cincinnati Zoo and the US Air Force museum within 30 minutes of site.
If you want to split rooms, there is an option for two beds and a pullout sleeper sofa available.
Sorry, no honorary bartenders. Very nice pub onsite, but drinks are on you.
Questions are always welcome. Feel free to PM me or any other organizer.
