I'm not a big fan of Government Motors, but a diesel engine with a manual transmission means I'll consider it!

GM should resurrect the kappa chassis and drop in a compound turbo diesel engine. It'll never happen, but they are definitely on the right track with all of the new diesels they are rolling out.

Unfortunately their announced SUV diesels for the US have small cargo spaces in comparison to what the American buyer likes to buy (35 cubic feet of cargo or larger carrying four or five passengers).

Equinox/Terrain?

Those sell in huge numbers ... Someone likes to buy them.
They will be the diesel Tiguan that VW chose to never sell here in the USA

If they have the ability to produce, they'd be silly not to capitalize on those who want diesel-powered compact and mid-size SUVs at a price-point below Merc and BMW, and who have tired of the never-ending promise of Mazda to put out a SkyD SUV.

Cheers
D.
