Hey guys,

Anyone using the non-dot approved 65watt Osram 65w H7 Rallye bulbs in there MKV Jetta's? I am looking to upgrade my 2006 Jetta TDI to something that will give me more coverage. Not looking for a blue light. Maybe whiter but looking for more power/coverage.

Looking to compare these vs say Osram Nightbreaker or the Philips Xtreme Power.

I am aware the two bulbs above are the appropriate 55w bulbs and are both dot approved. Both being advantages but i am wondering if anyone can personally tell me experiences with the Osram Rallye 65watts on low beams?

Thanks,
Justin

just watch your harness, higher power rating may melt your harness

Which silverstar's? The Philips or Osram. I know they are the same company but the american philips ones are tinted blue and have been said to be less effective than the actual Osram ones which dont have blue glass.

SilverStars are sold under Sylvania, which is Osram. I'm waiting to buy new headlights to get new bulbs, and these are the bulbs I intend to get.

I ended up purchasing the Philips X-Treme Power H7's. I will stick them in my low beams when i get them. I will report back what i think compared to my OEM 06 Bulbs.
