Hello all,

I noticed that the manual (02Q) transmission in the mk6 TDI has a quite taller gear ratio. I ran the math and just by changing the final drive to the 2.78 I would be able to do roughly 70MPH at 2,000 RPM. Currently, I am doing ~60MPH at 2,000RPM and this sucks for long road trips.

Would swapping the final drive from a salvaged O2Q work in my transmission? And would a DSG tune be able to account for the gearing change in software?

Thanks,
Curtis

P.S. This is my first time making a thread/post and I am unsure if this is the correct place

Malone got back to me and said that yes, you can change the gear ratio's because in the TCU there is an area to edit the gear ratio's
