Long story short. A power steering high pressure line leak on a long trip caused the ps.pump to seize and throw the serpentine belt. I replaced everything with new parts and proper pentosin fluid. Power steering worked great until I lost steering a few weeks later. I suspect the dead pump might have caused debris that is trapped in the rack (the pump failure was pretty ugly) because the new pump is still spinning. How difficult is it to swap racks on these cars? I’ve done my own t-belt, clutch, intake manifold, etc but never a rack on this platform. A rack swap on my mitsu required pulling the motor/trans to get at the subframe mounting bolts. My Bentley cd is at home or I’d do the research there first (yes I searched the forum as well). Thanks,
