Im getting a small studder comparable to a missfire in a gas engine. it only happens after sitting for 8+ hours, and always happens when an approximate distance has been traveled (about 1 mile). it studders twice (at a constant speed about 60mph) and never again for the rest of the day. any ideas?

Millions of reasons. Here's a guess.

Sounds like it's happening at warm up. Our 2003 ALH is doing the same, but is also throwing a MIL shortly after start if air temp is below freezing. We had the dealer check it, and the code is for the EGR, which needs either replacing or cleaning. Tech suggested waiting until it becomes a problem (we're at 306,000 miles).

Does the EGR in an ALH (or PD, you didn't say) engage at start, or after warm-up?
