A friend of mine wants to trade his car in for the buyback but he has aftermarket exhaust and a stage 2 Malone ecu. Is it possible to swap our ecu's? His is a manual transmission and mine is a Sportwagen with the dsg.

You could swap ecu's , but you would both need tunes to adapt or disable the immobilizer. Otherwise, neither car would run.

I wondered if there was a security feature.
Can't a good mechanic disable that with a modus scanner?

No. You'd also both need tunes to address the different transmissions.

Hmm. Okay. Well that kinda defeats the purpose then.
I went to the Malone website and found that yes there's a tune for the transmission that needs done to utilize a stage 2ecu but nothing was said about there actually being different ecu tunes. Good to know
