(Slams head into table).Sorry but no way! That beam is done!
Where do the jackstands go when I replace it? I'm tempted to do it myself, the new electric impact has been worth its weight in gold, but it's getting cold up here in MA. Can't imagine how much it will cost at a shop. Don't think that's an option. I just finished so much maintenance on this car and thought I was ready for another 50k miles. :/
That's scary bad, go to a pull a part and get ya one and swap it out, it's fairly easy.

If only I didn't have so many other projects to take care of. My concern is getting one from a junkyard that is true, even if I am able to find one that is stacked up in the air to make things easier. I had already starting pricing one out and it seems IDParts had the best deal with the bushings pressed in already at $595, plus I can pick that one up instead of shipping it. So darn expensive! Maybe it would make more sense to hit the yard and find the best one I can get, then spray with some rust inhibitor etc. I have some things to mull over. So I read something about sizing the nut on a bar to make sure I'm getting the correct size? That could open it up so I could check beetles, jettas, or golfs? All the same? Nothing special about the wagon I'm guessing. They do have different part numbers I read.Pull a part is the cheapest way to get all the parts Incorporated.

Follow this video. You can use the same jack points on your car.

I generally find that avoiding such things enduce's more struggle than it's worth. At least you have fresh fluid when you get done if you do.Is there any way to avoid cracking the brake line?
Just add more zip-ties, looks like that one is doing a lot of work, add more, they don't rust and are cheep!

Bahahahaha! Yeah, maybe that's the best plan. Hopefully the yard doesn't try to charge me too much extra for it being "loaded." So, from what I read, as long as the bolts on the strut mount and the bushings are the same size as what's on my car that will work? It would be good if I had options; Jetta, Golf, Beetle.I get flamed from time to time but what I'd do...I'd pull one from the wrecker and slap it on, the bearings are probably good, if they're not, replace them, that's assuming the one you find doesn't also look like you pulled it off the Titanic kinda like the one you were recently riding on.
