This is not just a blow to Audi Motorsport, but to Le Mans and the entire WEC Series.

Who is going to buy a ticket to a 24-hour race, or watch it from home, when LMP1 is just Porsche vs Toyota? Who cares? The glory days were those years when Audi and Peugeot went head to head. Now they are both gone.

Totally agree!
Peugeot went down due to financial reasons and everybody knows, but official it can not be said, Audi has been killed by anti-diesel rules...

VAG had a bit of cash crunch from selling those pre-chipped cars :D In addition to that Audi had nothing else to prove, so they sent in Porsche to pinch hit for a few years. Same thing happened in WRC with the Polo, but it will be back as will Audi. WEC and LeMans is still the best thing motor racing enthusiasts have left. Go Corvette!

Thanks, had not seen that one. R8 and 10 ran at Road America in the American LeMans Series. I miss that series. The Francebilly Sportscar series does not get the job done and probably never will.
