First off, I am not asking for handouts. My car is due for it's 240k timing belt change and there is no way I am going to keep driving without changing it, I would rather sell the car (it is not for sale). But I just graduated college, I am under-employed and waiting for several police entrance examinations to take place so I can finally begin my career.
What I need is to borrow or rent a set of Metalnerd, or metalnerd like, timing belt tools and then pay someone to fine tune with VAG-COM. If anyone is able to help me out, I would be ever so grateful. Thanks,

John O.

1998 Jetta...what motor? AHU/ALH?

AHU = cheaper TB job; ALH = more expensive TB job.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was 1998.5 or 1999.5 the change over from AHU to ALH?
