2000 passat 5 speed swap to 02J?

I have to make a quick decision and wondering if transmission and engine from 2000 jetta tdi with 5 spd will fit in 2000 passat with an auto. I have a complete jetta donor car. Tried to find info with no luck. Thank you in advance.

Quick answer, nope. They're 2 complete different setups. Transversal vs longitudinal.

If it's a 1.8t yes, but the gearing will be totally wrong.

Bolt in the B5? Yes. Run and move the car? Not so easy. And bolting it in the car would require a few 2001.5+ AWM parts.

This would be a BIG project. Lots of stuff you'd have to source from overseas or cobble together yourself. It could be done, but not as easy as you may think.
