Doesn't show to be a Hino application. Do you have the OEM or 6-digit Garrett number? It has often occurred that the same turbo was called with different frame size designations. I think the 3576 and 3776 are one and the same turbo.

Anyone have CFM flow numbers for our stock turbos? I would also like to know it for the GTB2260VK.

I was thinking of using the 2260VK to upgrade my 2010 2.0 CR TDi. which model is the stock turbo?

Just for my own curiousity, and slight confusion. Looking over the naming template that TDImeister provided, Im curious as to how Garrett is actually designating the turbo. IE the GTB1756VK for example. It is a gt series turbo, 3rd generation, 17mm turbine???, 56mm compressor with electronic VNT actuation. The given information on the first page shows that it has a 50mm exhaust inducer and a 41mm exducer? Im just curious here. I havent had a chance to go through some of the other linked sites in this thread, but is there a "turbos for dummies" intro on any of them? Im talking about for things like reading compressor maps, and other basic things like that lol. Also, since I didnt see the 17/22 in here yet, how would the 1756 compare against the 17/22? I know that the 1756 should be better right off the bat as it is not a hybridized turbo, but outside of that I am pretty much clueless.

I was wondering if it was a "family" or "series" designation for the turbine wheel, that seemed to make a bit more sense to me. Ill start looking through those links. I have enough time sitting here at work to do so lol. I do dyno testing for Isuzu diesel engines, so I can pass it off as "work related education" haha.

Great info... thanks for sharing.

Using the formula in the 3rd article, what values should I use for:
Wa=
MAP=
R=
Tm=
VE=

Goal is 180whp in my ALH.

Thanks!

Good catch, but that's an error in the table. The "17" does not refer to an actual dimension in mm, it's just a designation of the frame size family.

Not sure how the acuator works. It could be PWM I'm guessing. We have no room to leave it on the turbo as it is quite large so it had to be removed. It would have been neat to use the acuator though.
