Weird issue just rose it’s head today.

My interior cabin lights stopped working when opening the doors. If I manually turn them on they come on as expected. The light switch is indeed in the correct position to activate when the door is opened.

Is this a common issue ?

Please help

There are just too many to list....
You'll need to check the data in the appropriate module to determine if it sees the door(s) open, may even be able to see the reported position of the switch itself as that may also be on there. Cannot say I have ever run into this on a T'reg. Lots and lots of others, though (door latches). But they do not die all at once, and I assume you've tried all four doors.

Yes tried all four doors, same results every way.
So when the Touareg is running - does the dash indicate doors open (when open?)

rear hatch?

Hood?

That will tell you if the door switch is talking to the body control module...

from there you can determine if the light switch is in some mode that won't turn the lights on or off.
