Just finished changing the timing belt, roller, and water pump on my 2005 PD with the 100k kit from Dieselgeek.
Everything went well but now that I'm done I notice a swooshing sound that seems to repeat every revolution of the timing belt.
I've read the posts that talk about this being caused by the belt "wobbling" a bit and rubbing against the lip of the tensioner. They seem to indicate that this is a sign that something in the timing belt path could fail soon.....
One thing I noticed is that after everything was back together the tensioner seems to be just a bit over-tensioned. The pointer is just outside the slot.
Does anyone know if over tensioning could cause this problem, or should I be concerned that one of my newly replace parts may have a problem?
Thanks,
Chris
