Front Seat removal - 2001 Jetta - Air Bag Alarm

I have just removed my passenger front seat, and now can't get the air bag alarm indicator light to go off on the console. The seat has been re-installed properly, with the connector back in place, but still have the visual indicator on the dash-board telling me a problem. How can this be re-set as there is no diagnostic code registering???

The samething happined to me. I ended up going to the dealer and got them to take it off. Cost like $30-40 I think.

You say no diagnostic code is registering, are you checking the airbag controller for this code? I had an airbag light that I cleared with the unregistered VAG-COM by accessing the airbag controller and asking it to clear the codes after making note of it. Please be sure it is safe to do so with your particular airbag controller, as there are some of them that appear to malfunction if touched by VAG-COM!
