None yet but looking at the VW 2.0 CR
Hi All!

Bit nervous about getting an engine (already bought and being shipped) from a 2011 Golf Mk6 2.0 liter 140hp TDI and putting it into my boat.

Will be getting the engine wiring harness all sensors (supposedly) and ECU EDC17

There are no air pollution laws here in Hong Kong so I guess I should take out the EGR and DPF ? but then what

Immobilizer; will not be getting the key transmitter thingy.

Help!

Did you write this in Chinese, never knew I could read that!!

What sort of boat is it going in?
Is there any concern of needing to waterproof the ecu and wiring, from just general overspray from chop or whatever? Just curious

Sorry I don't have anything constructive to give you, but this does interest me a bit.

I don't have any advice for you as I don't know a whole lot about the common rail engines. Wish you luck though, should be a great boat engine once you figure the wiring out. I have been running a 1.9pd in my boat for 7 years now putting about 200 hours a year on it, and have been very happy with it.

There are marine TDI engines, why not just got one of those?

Cost, vw marine engines are priced like their made out of gold. Also I don't think they are still offering the 4cyl in a marine version. I called the Canadian distributor to price them a few years ago and they wanted $38,000 for the 4.2l v8 tdi and a little north of $30,000 for the 3.0l v6 version.
