VWR Springs vs VW Factory Sport Springs

In light of the good will package coming soon I'm looking into what I can actually spend the VW gift card on. I'm in the market for some springs to improve the handling and was planning on the VWR springs. While cruising the VW parts website I noticed they do have a factory sport spring package at a pretty reasonable price.
Does anyone have any experience with these? I know the TDI springs are different from the other MK7s, will these even work? Would rather have VW pay for these and keep the warranty if possible.
Thanks!

Are you sure that is for the rear beam cars?

I am going to order VWR springs shortly....

No, the Sport Spring Package VW Part# 5G4071677E WILL NOT WORK on the TDI, since these springs are designed for Golf multi-link rear suspension only. The current retail installed price for this package is $1260. FYI... I have installed Bilstien HD B6 shocks on our 2015 Golf S TDI (and others) and they make a huge difference in suspension performance. The factory shocks are too slow/soft for aggressive driving.

Where to buy the Bilstien HD B6 shocks for a reasonable price?
Thanks!

Reviving this thread because it's exactly tailored to my question. I currently have VWR springs on Bilstein B8s and the car rides a bit lower and stiffer than I want. It handles beautifully, but cannot take hard impacts without jolting the entire car and the car sits just a bit too low in the front IMO. The DriverGear springs (5G4071677E) say they "fit my vehicle" when selecting 2015 TDI SEL M/T and I'd like to test out a set. The 25mm-30mm drop of the DriverGear doesn't sound much different from the claimed 30mm-35mm of the VWRs, but I think the front is dropped lower than that with the VWRs.

I seem to recall when looking at the DriverGear springs previously, that they had a warning about not fitting the TDI with its rear axle setup but now that is nowhere to be found??

Don't expect to get a reply. If you notice I posted a question 2 years ago, and never got a reply!

I noticed!
Figured there are more of these cars out there now, that maybe someone has tried them. I'd be willing to test them even if the rears don't work, but feel that might not be great to have DriverGear in the front and VWRs in the rear. Maybe not though

Stock dampers. I bought mine on Ebay, was the best price I could find.

Anyone willing to measure Fender-to-Ground measurements on a stock setup to confirm or correct the below? With some searching around, I've found these:
Stock (TSI likely which is lighter than TDI in the front)
Front: 68cm
Rear: 67.5cm
DriverGear (again on TSI)
Front: 66cm
Rear: 65.25cm
H&R (GSW TDI)
Front: 63.25cm
Rear: 64.5cm
VWR (Golf TDI w/ Bilstein B8s, my car)
Front: 62.5cm
Rear: 64.5cm

The difference from stock to DriverGear falls in line with their claimed 20-25mm drop almost perfectly. I'd expect the TDI to sit a bit lower in the front though. My front setup actually has a negative space between the fender and top of the tire which I don't care for, plus I would like the ride a touch softer. Hard decision between trying the H&R vs the DriverGear. I've been told by a parts "specialist" at a well known dealer in Charlotte that the DriverGear springs "should" fit.

Emanual Design spring with stock dampers. In reading up on this, the springs are designed to work well with the stock dampers, giving only a slightly stiffer ride but lowering the car an inch or so. As soon as spring hit, I am picking up a set.

Reviews seem very positive so far.

You will need to run those "Audi spring pads" from what I can tell, to fix the reverse rake with those. I sure saw A LOT of people getting those springs but after so many "I tried these pads, I tried those pads" even on the gassers, I decided that even though I have lift and means to jack around with them, I didn't want that headache.

I have VWR springs on my Mk7 GTI. I liked them for about 10K miles, but they've pretty much blown up my stock dampers already with 20K on the car. Will probably go to a proper coilover setup soon. I don't think I'll ever do lowering springs on stock dampers again.

I had 32,000 on mine with the H&R springs with no problems.

Not really, was just a little stiffer than stock, but better handling. I think my 18 inch wheels and lower profile tires made more difference in ride than the springs did.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll give them a shot. I've gotten fairly efficient at removing them, ha!
