The last Meyle fuel filter I bought was made in China. It looked fine and I still used it, but I would have preferred one made in Europe or Mexico. Supposedly, even some of the Mann filters are now made in china.

There are just too many to list....
We use Bosch, which is what your car left the factory with.

The dealer replacements are now made in China by DFI, which is also who supplies the OEM filters for some newer cars like the CKRA Passats. They seem OK.

Hengst or Mahle (not Meyle) are fine, too.

Just installed one of these;

Quality looks good, $15 vs $24 for the Mann.
I've been toying with getting a Kerma "Widget" that replaces the
thermostatic T. Or another alternative is to go with the earlier style
filter without the pre-heat hardware.

You can spend more and go for a 2Micron fitting.

Dunno' if that's worthwhile, diesel is pretty good quality in this
country. Never had a problem, though I certainly replace mine
every 20k.
