So I finally did it. I'm going slow as hell. Speed limit on the highway, 90 in 80's. I filled up at Husky, also got their additive. Right now I'm at 540km on the tank, vented, at halfway. Was mainly highway, except for two slowww trips downtown.

I'm all excited!!

Gave the car a bath, got the hitch on, and shes going strong. ... except that damn wobbly axle!!!

6.3L/100km's but a good portion of that your boost valve was incorrectly set up - your next tank should take you a bit further... if not we can look into other reasons why its not up to par. Maybe you just have a heavy foot??

6.3L/100km's is only 0.4L/100km's beter then what i get - i have a VERY heavy foot tho and drive a PD.

4.9 L / 100 km is my best tank, im consistantly getting over 1100km on about 56, 57 L per fill ( mostly highway,,401.)

Including the cruise Saturday, and the drive to work the day before, some running around yesetrday, and the drive to work today, SG says 4.6L/100km, which is pretty accurate lately, and I've gone 700km on half a tank.
Silver you should be getting better?? We have similar mods.
The WORST I've ever gotten was 5.8L/100km in the dead of winter, on snowies, with a 140km/h average.

Just filled up yesterday. 1007km's on 52.6 litres, I think thats 5.3 or 5.2L/100km. That's driving 115km/hr most of the time.

I just got 6.1l/100 on B100, driving my poor car like I stole it.... Not bad I suppose, and that includes a fair amount of city

I always vent, pretty well buy whatever fuel is the cheapest, and drive about 115 on the hwy ... last 3 tanks:

4.60 L/100km on Shell Ultra (57.391L over 1247km)
4.67 L/100km on Flying J fuel (54.17L over 1159km)
4.88 L/100km on W.O. Stinson Fuel (Pembroke)

In the winter I averaged about 5.4 L/100km.

If you're driving all highway you should be getting better than 6ish I think.

My best tank was 1100km without venting, going 120 on average. I got 1100 all the time. I think these smog 216's must be what took it so much lower. All winter I was around 600-700 unvented. Last tank was vented and I got about 700 but that was 80% city.

Note: I don't drive till the light comes on.

I wish I got the economy I used to, but I'm happy enough unless anybody has some other suggestions. IQ? etc.

Running stock size Yoko's at 40psi. Clean intake manifold, good timming belt.

Hmmmm...slow down...I am at 5.2 normally...90 highway, 10 city...120 k's with cruise on the highway, otherwise rather slow....well, most days anyways.

I can bump it up to 4.8 if I keep off the go pedal, and stay at 115 or below on the highway...stock tires, at 32 psi....rears get bumped up with the load, but, that is unusal...After 110 kph...drag becomes a huge factor. Well, in my opinion anyways. In the winter, with idling, and really cold temps, things bump up a little....stiff engine oil, stiff bearings, stiff gearbox...and extra elex to run the heated seats...

With the slushbox, my best tank ever is 5.3 L/100km. Summer normal range is 5.4-5.7 L/100km. Over the winter it was 6.2-6.8 L/100km, but I attribute part of that to the failing tranny.

A couple of weeks ago I tried dawdling at 73km/hr for 120km and was rewarded with a 4.8 L/100km but that's just too slow for normal commuting.

I wonder if my f'd up axles might be making things out of wack.

I'm fine with my economy. I go slow to stop slights, downshift when I have time. I take my acceleration slow unless I need to be fast. Keep cruise at 100km/h on the highway. I think my car just doesn't like to be as efficient as the others, but it still does fine. Mid to high 40's. But either way, it's gotten way better since I slowed it down.

Finally decided to try a tank full at the speed limit.
The first 300 kms were heavy footed, until I started this experiment.

4.62L/100km
1272 km when the light came on

90% highway driving at 100 - 108 km/hr. The upside to the extra economy were the two speed traps that I drove through last week. Would have certainly been busted. Will see how the next whole tank at the speed limit fairs out.

I'm sitting at 650ish now and getting kinda close to the mark left of half. I really want to get a scan guage so I can see in real time what I'm getting. It's hard to assume what fuel has been consumed without filling and then filling up.

I too got lucky. I was on highway 26 and wham 3 cops. Glad I was going 85. (whatever 2k RPM equals). Then I hit the 400 and wham the cops where closing down the road while they escorted a court vehicle. It was funny, they were going 110, yet everyone tried to go faster. I stayed in the slow lane and kept it on cruise. I'd see one guy change lanes, nail the gas, and 5 min later I'd get to him because no one could pass the cops.

I just fill up last night. 50L, $65. Average out 5.68L/100km. 100% local, well, with little hwy. almost every 1-2km stop at traffic night. Regular right foot.

Low fuel light went off at 1285km this AM. Since the beginning of April I've had six consecutive tanks at 1300+ kilometers... averaging just below 4.5 L/100km.

This car is pretty amazing...

I just filled up yesterday at 133.3 at husky. 45MPG over the course of the tank. I was hoping for much better considering I went slow as hell. Still had a fair amount of city driving though.
