Independent shop in Denver

Does anyone know of a good independent VW repair shop in Denver/Boulder? I need someone who can do a timing belt.

The dealer I bought my Tdi from told me I needed new rear brakes and quoted $435. A good independent in Pittsburgh (Manage My Car)did the job for less than 1/2 that while I was visiting my father over Christmas.

Some on this forum call dealerships "stealerships." This kind of hosing makes the nickname all the more accurate.

Stoveman, where in the Denver area do you want to go (Boulder, the north area of Denver, Downtown...)?? I can give you several places that have done TB's on late model diesels. I can send you this information on Monday morning...

Do not send it. Post it here so we can all see!

There is a place I will try (unless you get a good place from this) called bosch automotive in Denver. (At least I THINK that is the name. I called them once and they seemed OK on the phone to try. Anything is better than my local stealership.)

My independant mechanic might be interested in doing this. I would LOVE for him to start doing timing belts. I would go to him before bosch automotive just because he has been fixing my cars for years and he owns a diesel truck now. He is the one who cleaned my intake for me.

A local TDI club member, Steve, has all the tools and did his timing belt. And helped drivebiwire do four in my garage at my GTG. I am sure he can do it, not sure if he wants to do it. I have the time to drive your car to Oregon if Pete still is doing timing belts!

I lived in Parker for 8 1/2 years and was involved in wholesale parts for all import vehicles. All of these people (And 100's of others) buy from us.

PS Before you ask, no I can't (We are wholesale only)...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'll second the recommendation for Wright's. We used to take our '74 Beetle to them and they always did an excellent job. We just got our TDI wagon last month so don't have any specific diesel experience with them yet.

And if you want a good timing belt change done by a local club member:
Local denver aurora tdi guy

Steve said to spread the word. I can tell you he will be doing MY next belt and I care more for my car than I do for yours! /images/graemlins/smile.gif
