Hi there, my name is Nick , I own a couple of Skoda Octavia TDI Wagons over the last 7 years (still own) and a VCDS.

I just bought a 2007 1.9 tdi AXR VW Polo, that starts then dies, even with accelerator to the floor there's no change.

The area i bought the car from is 2 hrs drive west of Brisbane , Australia , so its generally bone dry , warm (in winter, currently almost summer) and quite a lot of dirt roads (3 minor Kangaroo hits, no major damage apart from cracked bumper etc) . So the car might of been shaken within an ace of its life. It does however have lots of new bushes and suspension etc.
The car was driving, then suddenly cut out while driving and would not re-start.

The car fires up for a second or 2, then dies. Or more recently tries to fire but doesnt.

Here are the VCDS readings with issues, obviously there is one glaring one, though the car does try to start, so i thought i'd put it all down for the masses to glean over before i start needlessly pulling items of car off.

01598 - Drive Battery Voltage
07-00 - Signal too Low

I've checked the battery.

In tank lifter pump is working and good pressure seems to be ok at the filter in eng comp, though bubbles can be heard in tank (seat is now up) when ing turned after being left for 10 15 mins.

No Immo light on dash after engine cuts

Glow plug lights up ok

Tried both keys

Accelerator doesnt work (once i managed to get it to run for 30 sec, but was low idle)

Car is covered in thick dust, have just jet washed eng comp

Fuel is getting back to the filter after going via the engine.

Apart from the Control Module (obviously the VCDS shows something) , i want to rule out jumped cam belts , failed pumps etc etc.

I found this PDF to be a lil helpful as reference https://www.dropbox.com/s/x5ibckz73nfc1nx/VW_TDI_with_PumpeDuse.pdf?dl=0 But i thought i really should post here before going further.

Thanks in advance.

Nick
