I know there has been some question on how to get the sales tax on these cars. Awhile back, a poster put a link to a form you can fill out to get reimbursed (very helpful).
I thought I was going to have to do that route, paying full tax on my replacement until reimbursement. Today I went to the DMV in KC area, and I took my receipt from Buyback on a whim. Since I did that, I was able to only pay tax on the difference instead of the full amount.
I was very happy to have to pay way less out of pocket and not have to submit for reimbursement. Worth a try!
