I can't believe I am doing this.
Up for sale is my beloved 2000 Golf. 388K. I have had this car since 2002. It changed my life. I have too many cars and this one is not being used. I would strongly prefer that someone use it. For the last 3 years I used this for my 130mi round trip commute 5 days per week. Now it just sits in my barn.
Performance ECU tune
Ultra rare dieselgeek stainless charge pipes
Slightly larger SMIC
2.5" downpipe w/cat
02M 6 speed manual trans w/ new (at the time) clutch/DMF
PP764 injectors
Garret VNT17
Dieselgeek panzer plate (the first one ever installed)
Wired trailer hitch
Bilstein TC
Lots of life left in the brakes. OEM low dust. Practically no dust.
Michelin Defenders with about 30,000 on them. Rotated regularly.
No damn sunroof!
I just put a timing belt on it @ 350k
New AC compressor & receiver at about 250k
Original injection pump
Original alternator
Original brake booster pipe!!!
Replaced the #3 piston at 120k which you can read about here on the forums. runonbeer's phantom engine problem or something
I tended to keep on top of repairs with this car as I was heavily dependent on it but I failed to keep very good records since I always assumed I would keep this car for the rest of my life.
Seeing the car parked in my shed in the back yard every day pains my heart because I know it would much rather be running up and down the road. The car runs very well. And I'm not just saying that. I have driven hundreds of different TDI cars. This one just has it.
I'll be back with more info and pictures. gotta go now.
