Strange plastic molded cover on my oil pan

So today, while was cleaning up underneath the newly acquired B4V, I noticed that oil "pan" was moving! I realized that its a molded cover that clips on to the bottom of the pan and it had the usual VW part numbers and writing.

I would take a pic and post it but for some reason I still am not allowed to do this

this also has a block heater with the proper three prong plug at the front of the motor.

Any ideas?

All the Mk3s had one of those oil pan covers, it's an effort to make the motor quieter.

otherwise known as the "diaper" lol...

Mine rattled, so I recycled it with some junk car parts.

It probably looks just like this.



Vw makes a parts kit to but it back up. Very expensive though!
