Hey guys I know I can pull the front end of car and remove motor and trans that way, I was just curious could the motor and trans be pulled out from beneath the car that way the air conditioner lines do not need to be broken or is this possible. I am replacing the original motor a cbea with a cjaa. The orginal motor has 212k miles and failing hpfp along with failing dmf. The replacement motor only has 38k. That is my logic, any I am trying to figure out how to pull motor. First time working on a CR motor, lots to learn. Thanks

I think it would be easier to replace the clutch/flywheel, and swap the hpfp / aux. pump/ injectors from the cjaa to the CBEA with new timing belt components. The cjaa does have a better oil pump drive, and low miles though.

Well I am planning on replacing with the cjaa and keeping the other one for a back up or spare parts.

Right on. Do you have a lift? I'd pull the front end if I was doing a swap.

Just curious how the CJAA engine swap went. I have a '09 Jetta with the CBEA and after 293k miles the head gasket is leaking. So I'm thinking of doing a CJAA swap myself, and planning to disconnect the a/c lines and pulling it out via the front end.
