That is called "hypermile-ing" , I do it also.

Sure makes a difference, as long as we NEVER close the ignition key tumbler all the way(which locks the steering ).

Talking about heights and drops...
I have LOTS of those here to deal with !
'cause the Andes mountains are steeper than the Rockies and taller.
(make sure that you know the point of lack of vacumm for the brakes, know what I mean ????)
