Yes and yes.just heard about this Rotella...
is this good? T6 for the ALH?
Dennis, I've been trying a few oils since owning a TDI. Most have been okay (PC-Duron, Esso XD-3). While the oils have been okay, I noticed I would lose oil over time. I tried Motul and the oil loss stopped, but the oil is a little on the pricey side and harder to find. I'm on my first jug of T6 (running all winter), and the oil seems to work quite well in my ALH and is available everywhere. So far, so good.just heard about this Rotella...

If you're ever coming down to Scarborough, try this shop (I found their listing on kijiji):I tried Motul and the oil loss stopped, but the oil is a little on the pricey side and harder to find.
T5 10w30: Unknown yet, do you feel lucky? (it's probably really a blend, isnt it?)updating
T5 Synthetic 10w-30: $18 (can i use this?)
T6 Synthetic 5w-40: $25
lol, no one has used it and survived?T5 10w30: Unknown yet, do you feel lucky? (it's probably really a blend, isnt it?)
The 10w part is fine for most parts of the US, it's 30 part that's the unknown for a truck oil. I'm all for trying new oil (within reason) but understand you are "testing" it. Using a blend is also unknown.lol, no one has used it and survived?
edit: i would think that 10w-30 would be ok for tropical weather (no snow)
And how soon after do you need to do another one? I've run 5W-40 (Synthetic) Rotella and Mobil-1 (Truck & SUV) for 24,000 km per oil change...sucks that i can do a regular oil change for under $10
I am over 400k and as far as I can remember about 100k has been all T6 on my 04 PDI run T6 in my PD
I don't think so.Is the Rotella T6 good for 507.00?
