I have a 2015 vw Passat tdi. Might be obvious since I’m in the tdi forums. So the issue I have been experiencing is while driving might call it a hiccup or even a stutter. I notice the rpms jump or drop a bit. It’s almost like a stutter step. I have changed the fuel filter, oil change, and replaced the air filter. I do not know what would cause this. Has anyone experienced this or know what it might be? I would rather not take it to the dealer and pay $125 for a diagnostics fee if it’s only a $12 relay or something like that. Any help is appreciated.

You need to run a VCDS scan.
One of my fleet cars (15 passat tdi SE) has had a similar one time event. The VCDS stored this:

I had a similar issue with my '15 Jetta TDI (very much loved and maintained). Car would suddenly and without warning drop rpms for a moment and then recover. This would happen at both low and high speeds and in all gears. Initially suspected DSG or mechatronic issues. Ran diagnostic scanners, replaced filters (oil, air, fuel), replaced fluids, etc. still the issue occurred. Turned out to be a faulty camshaft position sensor. 20K later, not one single hiccup.
