Castrol Bio-Synthetic

Hello all,

can anyone tell me if Castrol Edge Bio-Synthetic is an appropriate oil for a diesel engine. I was looking through the specs and I can't see whether it is CG-4 rated or higher or if it is an oil that can be used with a diesel engine. I have been using Castrol Edge Extended Performance 5W30 Full SYN and was on the fence on whether to switch or to stay with what I'm already using.

Based on the product data sheet I would say it is NOT an appropriate oil for a Diesel Engine. I am not an oil guru so others may feel differently but I would not use this oil in my Diesel car. If using Castrol, I would use... Castrol EDGE Turbo Diesel 5W-40 (VW 502.00/ 505 00/ 505 01) or Castrol EDGE 5W-30 (VW 504 00/ 507 00. Fulfils the requirements of the former VW 503 01 specification)

I would definitely use a 5w40 in a Florida ALH.
