Any thoughts on the compressor wheel trim from the "wheel trim experts" would be welcomed :)

Likes to surge if you want alot of boost below 2700 rpm but works really well for top end

The new-generation Garrett turbos are to-date only found in the very small-frame units. I have not seen GTCs in anything larger than the -15 and GTD than the -12 families.

Made a hybrid based on that compressor wheel but used a bmw 525d turbine, instant spool on a v6 2.5 tdi quattro with large bosio 683 nozzles. Only time the car did not smoke and had an overboost in 4th whilst racing a Subaru WRX prodrive ! Gave the scooby a good run for its money in a lousy old tech diesel...

When you say" Audi 2.4": Is that the same as the Indirect Injection D24T's that went in the Volvo during the 80's in the states?

Seriously I think I must try some bigger geometric turbo. (if it's possible it would be GTB system)
I have a little more of 350hp and use the car every day, if I put a serious gt35 the worst crap of the universe, in a diesel power is necessary below 2000 RPM ;)
If an AMG gt23 charge too late even with NOS, imagine a gt35 :)
Would have to close geometry and ask for help of God :D

Some GTB3576KLNRV is way to go. It spools preatty early and has big top end power. Spools probably too quick that it will cause some surge.

It dosen't disturbe that is's goes from 3000 rpm. Only the hell comes from there. :mad:

The real spec on the Holset HE221W:

Billet compressor wheel OR cast (both available)
6cm and 7cm turbine housings (5cm and 8.5cm that would fit are available but they are from other small frame Holset turbochargers)

Compressor:
Exducer: 60mm
Inducer: 44.2mm (HX27W has a smaller inducer, supposed to be 41.5mm but I have not measured that one myself)
6+6 blades
54 Trim

Turbine:
Inducer: 52mm
Exducer: 46.6mm
80 Trim
11 blades (HX27W turbine is same size but 12 blades)

And ladies and gentlemen, here it is in all it's glory, the real compressor map of the HE221W compressor ;) Compressor map is WIDE and PR is high for it's exducer size but compressor efficiency has been sacrificed to get there

Holset HE211W/HE200WG:

Used to be called HE211W, now they are mostly branded with HE200WG and I've even seen one with HE221W on the tag :p (yep, original Holset, not China copy crap)

Only cast compressor wheel available, no ported shroud housings
5cm turbine housing, at least two different outlet flanges available

Compressor:
Exducer: 56mm
Inducer: 40.6mm
6+6 blades (early prototypes used to be 4+4, now obsoleted)
53 Trim

Turbine:
Inducer: 46.6mm
Exducer: 41.3mm
79 Trim
11 blades

Not as good surge margin as the bigger HE221W since there is no ported shroud compressor housing but much better compressor efficiency! As normally, all Holsets have 360° thrust bearings stock and they take a serious beating!

Max airflow = 31.6lbs/min (HE221W = 37.8lbs/min)

Appears to be used on 2011+ 141ps CR engines.
