What was your average MPH? Are you drafting? I know I can't get 55 mpg running between 65-70 MPH with my DSG. I have noticed that if I draft a semi to take advantage of slipstream, my MFD MPH goes up between 10-25%.

On the show Mythbusters, drafting behind an 18-wheeler truck was tested and results showed that traveling 100 feet (30 m) behind the truck increased overall mpg efficiency by 11%. Traveling 10 feet (3.0 m) behind the truck produced a 39% gain in efficiency.

I've done extensive tests driving for short distances (25 - 40 miles round trips) on local interstates and back roads in AZ (hot engine, fairly flat, no a/c, 38 psi, no stops, constant speed, usually about 375 pounds total load, no drafting) using the MFD mileage (which has always been within 0.3 mpg of actual). These are my averages with 6 - 8k miles on car:
50 MPH = 58.4 MPG
55 MPH = 56.9 MPG
60 MPH = 52.3 MPG
65 MPH = 48.8 MPG
70 MPH = 45.6 MPG
75 MPH = 42.8 MPG
80 MPH = 39.0 MPG
