PLEASE DON’T COMMENT ON ANY DYNOS OR ANYTHING !!
If the dyno discussion thread is not on the first page do a search. This is only for dyno’s and the mods list for the dynos. Nothing else.



If this works out and everyone goes by the rules maybe this and the discusion can become a sticky so people who want to know what they can expect with a certain set up can just scroll thru the dynos and see what they like.

- Dyno make (Some machinery gives higher numbers than others)
- SAE corrected only
- 4th gear pulls only

- - A list of mods (including total engine mileage)
- - Try to have 2 to 3 runs you can average
- -Temp. at time of dyno
- #'s at the wheels not the crank
- car year and engine
- The more info the better boost .tires stuff like that.

Even if you do not meet the standard post anyway this is more of a next time you dyno thing just to help make it clearer

Dyno'ed at DSG in MA (I will update when I find out what the make is, IBW?) temp was in the high 60's. We ran a stock TDI first, and it came in with 82.3 HP and 148 Tq.

My car is a 2002 Golf GLS ALH 1.9 TDI with 95000 miles at time of dyno.
I was (am) running RC3 ASV with PP520's, an Old Man Intake from blubyu here on the club and a VR6 clutch with single mass flywheel. I have a dawes device for boost control. Everything else is stock.
Tires were worn out 205/55/16 continentals on BBS RXII's.

This chart shows my wagon with VNT 17/22, 11mm pump, lift pump, PP520s for the lower numbers and PP502s for the higher ones, PD 150 intake pipe and manifold and R32 DSG airbox and snorkel, 2.5" turbo back exhaust, 3 bar MAP.


And this dyno is from the '06 New England Dyno day. My A5 Jetta 5 speed had RC1+ only, and 1,300 miles on it. No other mods.

I'm trying to put this in the right places, but here's my Golf from yesterday.

Stock turbo, RC3++, PP520s, lift pump, PD130 intake, 2.5" turbo back exhaust (cat, no muffler).

How come I see to be the only one posting dynos here? Let's see some more!

ok here is my car . this is a stock car . first is with RC3 only (127 WHP 239 TQ) the second is rc3 and pd150 injectors (139 WHP 263 TQ) the third is with Race injectors ( 150 WHP 275 tq) I did do one pull with 147 WHP and 289 TQ though. Again totaly stock car.Ill be able to add the new dyno to this one for referance.

engine is unknown junk yard engine that i found had some messed up lifters but have yet to redyno. only made 28 psi on dyno but ran it on the street with 40psi.

Hy35
largest nozzles available.
11mm pump
custom downpipe, intercooler and crank case evac
intank pd pump

custom tuning.

its at the top of your graph,its a "dyno dynamics" made in australia.its an eddie current w/ loading capabilities.how do i know,i was just there dynoing my car today at 4pm.
i'll take pics of my 232k miled engines dyno sheets(rc3,pp520,stock dp,no cat,no egr,2.5"exhaust),but it was 116.6hp/217tq.

Blue line is today. 2002 Jetta Wagon, 192K, 17/22, 11mm pump, lift pump, RC6, PP502s, PD150 intake, manifold, and MAF, R32 DSG airbox and snorkel, 2.5" turbo back exhaust with high flow cat and straight pipe, Tyrolsport SMIC, PD150 "race pipe." SBC Stage 3 clutch with Sachs DMF.

Boost is creeping down on the rollers. This happens every time, but everything is ok on the road and boost stays 2,0bar after the turbo spools up.

This is an old dyno with 309hp (227kW) and 586Nm.


I did run 228kW in the same dyno few months later, but that time I could hold max power between 3800-5000rpm. Only mod was a larger MAF (60mm->80mm). Boost was creeping down again as above. I can't find that dyno anymore.

Average of 3 runs - 91* at 19% humidity. 136.71 HP @ ~3200 RPM, 308.99 TQ @ ~ 1775 RPM on a Dynojet, uncorrected #s...not sure what conversion to SAE would be.

FWIW Car was heat soaked substantially before the runs while logging data. Runs 2&3 saw drops from the 1st run. This was a dyno day for VWs/TDIs.

2002 5sp ALH w/ stock turbo & DP at @ 96000 miles. Wheel/tire setup weighs ~37lbs

Mods - RC III ASV, Sprint 520s, 11mm pump, PD lift pump, no muffler, long runner intake manifold setup (ala VW 1X) w/ custom piping, BF SMIC

I have a hard time believing the numbers with those mods. I would say its an overly optamistic dyno. I could believe 190- 195 at most.

A little more info? It's just that this is the highest non NOS ALH with a VNT dyno in North America... Who is the tuner? You dyno'd about 21hp more than anyone else has with that turbo in North America ;) What's the secret?

Nobody else goes by those rules why should we. Ok I am confused you posted one that has 196 then you did another run that had 215 why the jump in hp. what kind of dyno was it?

97 Jetta with new exhaust

I posted a dyno in Jeff's thread a couple of weeks ago: it was a baseline for my Jetta before its new exhaust. Here is the old one.


And here is today's.

Only changes are new 2" exhaust from the turbo back. No CAT, no muffler. IQ was moved from 4.0 to 3.0.
