Is Illinois next?

With TDI's being pulled out of California and New York, does it seem like Illinois is next?

As some of you already know I've put a down payment down on a Y2K Golf TDI and I'm a bit worried that they will "outlawed" here as well? What's going on?

If more and more states ban the TDI, I might just wait for a 1.8T GTI.

I doubt it, unless there is something about Illinois that I'm not aware of. As most folks know, California has more stringent exhaust emission requirements than is required by the federal government. In the early 1990's quite a few states in the northeastern part of the U.S. decided to largely adopt California emission standards, provided other states in the region agreed to do so as well. By now, enough of these states have agreed to require these more stringent standards for these new laws to take effect. To the best of my knowledge, no midwestern states, including Illinois, have adopted these stricter standards.
