I am about to turn in my 2010 Jetta and replace it with a vehicle that has significantly shorter rust-thru warranty than the Jetta does (5 years vs. 12). A quick look under the vehicle I am considering reveals there are also some components that have exposed bare metal. Although I live in a climate where the car will never see a speck of salt, I would still like to apply some rustproofing to those areas I think may be prone to rusting, and I would like to do so as soon as I bring the new vehicle home from the dealer. So, my question is: does anyone know of a really good rustproofing material? Thanks in advance.

fluid film is well regarded. it does, however, lift some kinds of undercoating.

I think it smells a little funky when you apply at first, however.

LPS3 is amazing stuff. You reapply it every few years and drive happy.

Another one I have used and was happy with is Amsoil heavy duty metal protector. It works great.

Thanks again for the tips.

If it's a new, unrusted vehicle I would be looking towards something more permanent and solid like rubberized undercoating vs a fluid that needs to be reapplied annually.
