Got rid of the Bridgestone Potenza's, and went back to the Mich MXV4+. Immediate increase of MPG's.

Worst tank ever. Wife has been driving the Golfy. She does not know how to drive for better mpg nor does she want to! I imagine it will go down while I ride my motorcycle this summer.

Hi Folks!

I want to put the word out that the TDI Fest 2006 Planning Committee is looking for a few good club members...

We're looking for someone who might be interested in giving a tech session type talk regarding ways to get the most (mileage-wise) out of your TDI. We'd like someone to present specific tips and suggestions for each of the engine types, if possible.

If anyone here is interested, or knows of someone who would be a good candidate for this, please pm me!

Thanks, and good luck!

Not bad for my first Tank 42.33MPG and a lot of stop and go, few short trips a lot of AC, Plus driving it hard for break-in

daily trip ~39 Miles

Much better than the 22.5MPG I was getting with my GTO (04 M6 EPA 17/29) on the same trip.

Tank MPG - 36.6359 - A/C really sucks down the mileage.

Have fun with this. Use the data if you want to. Ignore it if it is irrelevant:

Driver: Lug_Nut
Miles: 1.66
Gallons: .875
Model Year: 1988
Model: Bolens DGT1700
Tranny: Hydrostatic
Fuel type: B50/WVO50

17 hp 700 c.c. 3 cylinder Mitsubishi idi lawn mower. 112 ounces of fuel to mow the lawn. 1.66 miles with a 48 inch cut works out to .8 acre (ignoring overlap). The bicycle computer reports I ran the mower for 52.5 minutes. That means I used .875 gallons in .875 hours, the same rate (1 gph) as a 60 mph TDI!
(Maximum speed was 8.7 mph.)

And you did it with crappy fuel

Hey, Georgia,

That's terrific mileage, especially considering that you did it with crappy, low-energy fuel (gasoline).

Its all in the reading.

When I first started using the car for delivery I was getting 32 MPG top. I read the post about how to get better fuel economy, IE right foot and stuff. Now I'm in the 35 range.:D
