Ok so I got my block heater installed. 2015 Golf TDI SE. I read I should install one of these quick connects. Involves cutting the end of the cord. I found this instead. Then I realized I could split it and also run a battery tender. Problem is where to mount the plug. I was just going to put it on the right side of the bumper. It was suggested to get a spring loaded flip up license plate holder. Now that's slick.

Here's the part I need help with. Can I use a hole saw to cut a 49mm hole approx 2" in my bumper directly behind my license plate? I don't have parking sensors yet. Is there anything I should watch out for? I've looked at pictures, it looks like dead space.

*Please don't post just to complain about my picture size. Only reply if you think you have helpful info.

I got the receptacle figured out. Once I removed the license plate and the license plate holder I poked around and confirmed there is dense Styrofoam directly behind the bumper. I didn't have a lot of room to work with even if I scraped away the Styrofoam. Once I measured everything I realized I could drill into the license plate holder. The 2" hole would just barely take out some of the grill below the bumper. I installed the receptacle along with a splitter. One side went to the block heater the other to a battery tender. I only used one of the springs on the flip up plate because 2 would've been too much tension.

I backed it off to 50%, and it still has a horizontal scroll bar.
Micah, seriously. Resize your photos (like the rest of us!) 800*600 works well on a forum.
Light Image Resizer works great. :)
CUPPIE, thanks for the tip. I can't download the applaction you suggested. Oh I see, you're on a computer. So, imagine if I said "Get an iPad (like the rest of us) ".
Maybe I'm wrong, if so I'm willing to adapt.
Now I'm curious. What kind of devices are other members using? Please vote in poll

Welcome. :)

You do realize that Windows PCs (desktops & laptops) do still outnumber iOS devices, by several orders of magnitude, yes? ;)

So shoot in a lower resolution (if you can.)
Can't? Well, hard to help, if we don't know what you're using..... ;)

I have not used a laptop or desktop since 2011. I tried to change the resolution on my phone and iPad with no luck.
At first I thought oh boy this guy just made me look foolish, but as of 2015 the statistics disagree. Following that trend, by now (2018) Mobile devices have surpassed the computer when it comes to web browsing.

So maybe there are more computers in the world, but it looks like they are just collecting dust like mine.

Let's not get into an OS pissing match here...
It's not about superiority. It about majority. Why should I resize all my pictures to make it more connvinent for a group that's quickly getting smaller and smaller as time passs? This thread will out last the personal computer as we know it.
Um, found this quite quick (comically, it's but the fourth entry when I Bing searched for "iPhone image resizer"):
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/image-size/id670766542?mt=8
Or, use Mail. You can resize the photo there, and email it to yourself.
:p
Thanks I just downloaded it. The email trick is smart.
Thing is I like the full resolution images. I like details. Now that I think about it, I'm nuts, I like details about the details.

Or upload the pictures to server and post thumbnails in the thread. The full size image will come up when you click on the thumbnails.
