Flooding here in DFW is widespread and very bad. I suspect it is all along the path of this storm.

Service stations along I 35W and I 35E all the way from the southern border and on north are being flooded up to several feet of water.

Underground tanks with even a hint of a seal leak on the tank caps will have water in them.

Watch where you get your gasoline and diesel fuel. If it looks like the station even "might have been" low enough to be flooded, beware.

Sorry if this is a double post, but I couldn't find what I needed in the search. I have an A4 Golf TDI with a BEW engine using Pentosin HP2 5W40 505.01 oil. I know that the manual states 10,000 miles between oil changes, but I have not driven too much in the last few months. How long time-wise can you go between oil changes? It has been about 6 months now since I did the last change and I have only driven about 7,000 miles. Thanks.

Time for an oil change, went to Wally-world in search of lube. Couldn't find what I'd used last time (Mobil 1 TDT) but I did spy a big blue gal-sized jug of 5W40 Shell Rotella T6. I remembered seeing where various forumites had used Rotella T (sans "6"), so the "6" part of name gave me pause. I threw caution to the wind, picked up a gallon and motored on over to the mechanic.

Okay, I only bought 1 gallon... Yeah, not enough oil for the refill.

As luck would have it, there was a parts store across the street. I moseyed on over and found a jug of 5W40 Rotella T, this time without the "6". Again, I threw caution to the wind and brought the oil to the mechanic; mixing ensued.

I am now running blended 5W40 synthetic oil (90% Rotella T6 + 10% Rotella T) for the next 10K miles.

So - turns out that Rotella T6 is good stuff, what do I do with my remaining T? When the next OCI comes along, should I use my remaining Rotella T and top-off with T6, or is it better to just take a loss on this mostly-full jug and go pure T6?
