I understand that these VERY expensive turbo's are one of the first diesel style turbo's to be fitted to a gasser. Because gassers run hotter than diesels they constructed these turbos from a space age material that can withstand.

Now

If one was crazy enough to shell out 6k to buy a set or just one of these what are the predictions of what would happen? Obstacles of course is the electronic actuator(hasn't stopped us before), operations(in sequence), and tuning(maps?).

Thoughts?

What do you top-end power guys run your cars on? I am in the odd scenario where the premium diesel fuel (Shell V-Power / BP Ultimate diesel) actually makes my car not run as well, and get more from running cheaper fuel and use a Millers fuel additive to help it along a bit.

Any thoughts?

Sorry for not contributing as much as I have gained from this forum, here is a liitle contribution back.

I was looking for a way of using the ross tec data to analyse current performance and came across this link which is refered to from the ross tech wiki through a post on another forum for a Butt Dyno.
http://www.ross-tech.net/vag-com/examples/dynoplot6.xls

just follow the insructions on the spreadsheet, which is basically log max aceleration in a gear with just speed time and rpm to max rpm and then coast back down to starting speed with the clutch in so the vehicle free wheels.
What I did to refine a little was to use the rpm to give a more accurate speed during acceleration phase as vag-com only has 1 kmh resolution. I also analysed the coasting period to curve fit to a 3rd order polynomial and used the resukting equation to update the time for coasting to a speed of higher precision.

Points to note that bhe faster you go the more undulations in the road will have an impact, you need flat road. Higher the gear will show higher whp.

So here is the data from my PD130 Ibiza with GTB2060VK, but standard injectors and clutch, hence the results you see.
http://pics.tdiclub.com/showphoto.ph...k-turb&cat=500
Can't seem to get the image on the post

Please not I am not the Creator of this, just a happy user.

Enjoy.

P.S. Having compared this graph with other on the forum I see I need a clutch as it is torque we drive so that should happen sometime soon, but then what about the injectors as std ones will be maxed out before 3.5k rpm?
Bosio Race 783 or Firad 925 for PD, I see there have been a number of issues on injector swaps, is there a conculsion., is it the swap process, are there any other options?
My thoughts were that the bosio is not enough capacity and Firad may be too much, but leaning towards the firad as that leaves control with the ecu tuner.
Who is recommended that can supply and fit these nozzles onto injectors. (I am in europe.)
Looks like there are more and more 2260's on the scene so there will be more and more interest in this.

PPS
I am thinking of porting the head, but there were a couple of issues. Will porting the exhaust help the low rpm tubo spool at all, by say 100rpm I am happy with how mine is but always looking for improvement as we drive torque. On the inlet side my vision (probably over simplistic) there are two sorts of swirl in the combusuion chamber, the first mode is rotating around paralell to the cylinder wall (call this horizontal) and the second mode is perpendicular to that rotating around parallel a to cross section through the piston bowl like winding wool around a doughnut(Virtical). The nub on the inlet port would look like it is trying to force additional virtical swirl. Traditional porting has the port angle towards the centre of the cylinder, but angling towards the wall of the cylinder would probably increase horizontal swirl, but would that be couterproductive.
Is the virtical swirl what helps to keep the injector spray patterns with further seperation, if so is that what might be causing problems with the 7 hole race 520 as these have less angular seperation between adjacent holes and hence might see considerably more mixing?
How much of this swirl is for low power settings and how much effect does it have on high power.

Sorry got a bit carried away but now thats off my chest!

Regards
Chapelhill.

alright eveyone im in nned of some help.

i have a 90brake tdi and sometimes while the engine is under load the turbo will cut out, i have noticed this does this more when the weather is wet,

i have just fitted a turbo boost gauge and have noticed when i plant the foot down the boost gauge goes right up past 30PSI/2BAR and then comes doen to about 18PSI/1.1BARish,

i have one of that plug in and play chips on it, do you think this is causing the boost to be so high

even tho the turbo would still cut out before this was fitted, seems to me that it might be something to do with wiring since it happens more it wet weather but need someone to point me in the right direction

any help would be great
thanks Duncan
